Nothing says “Happy New Year” like a big， bold makeover. Lucky for us， color maven Tobi Fairley？just wrapped a splashy new foyer face-lift for Southern Living magazine？that features a few of our favorite things： no-apologies brights， fun patterns， unexpected detailspersonalized christmas ornaments， and a rockin’ stair installation of a Dash &； Albert rug.customized gifts for her
Tobi’s team started by painting the walls in a cool， calming sky tone that pops against the white woodwork. She chose a deep navy for the interior doors and strategic spots throughout the room， like the ceiling border， the octagonal table covered with a pleated skirt， the border of the natural sisal rug， the tape trim on the settee， the framed artwork by the stairs， and the pendant lantern. The cerulean hue， meanwhile， is echoed in the abstract-print pillows and the tall decorative jars on the table. Sticking to a single color family for the primary elements allows the accent color—a fabulously saturated fuchsia—to stand out on the X-bracketed benches.
And what can we say about Tobi’s choice of Dash &； Albert’s Bluemarine Ticking runners for the stairs？ Let’s start with： wow. And that’s pretty darn perfect. And we love the way the casual stripe not only echoes the blues in but also tones down the formality the space. This is everything an entryway should be： fresh， clean， and inviting， with a bit of intrigue that makes you want to explore the rest of the home to see what other design goodies are in store.
In honor of the New Year and new designs， Annie’s giving away a 4’ x 6’ Dash &； Albert rug—the very same Bluemarine Ticking used here in Tobi’s foyer makeover!
